Duration: 60 minutes

Description:

Tenant Selection Plans (TSPs) are central to nearly every eligibility, screening, and compliance decision at your property. With the implementation of HOTMA, many of these decisions now require updated documentation and consistent application.

This 60-minute virtual training provides a practical, plain-English guide to TSP requirements, focusing on policies staff actually use when taking applications, managing waiting lists, processing reexaminations, and verifying information. Participants will gain clarity on HOTMA updates affecting assets, interim reexaminations, student income, hardship exemptions, and consent forms, and learn how to reflect these changes in written policy.

The session also highlights areas where owners have discretion, explaining how to document those choices consistently and defensibly. Attendees will leave with a stronger understanding of how to align their Tenant Selection Plan with current HUD expectations and reduce day-to-day uncertainty for staff and management alike.
