Time: 1pmET | 12pm CT | 11am MT | 10am PT

Duration: 90 minutes

Description:

This webinar will focus on the current swing bed requirements for Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) and related CMS regulations. Swing bed regulations are outlined in Appendix W for CAHs, while interpretive guidelines and survey procedures are under Appendix PP.

Many CAHs remain unaware of all requirements or face challenges in compliance. Interpreting the guidelines and survey procedures can be difficult because there is no direct crosswalk between Appendix W (CAH) and Appendix PP (Long-Term Care). This webinar is designed to help hospitals understand the expectations and requirements for compliance.

Hospitals have seen an increase in CMS survey activity and a growing number of deficiencies. Common deficiencies and strategies to prevent them will be discussed. Attendees will also learn how to access the CAH manual, additional CMS resources, and information on 1135 Waivers available to CAHs with swing beds.
