Description:
Passed in July 2025, the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) builds on the foundation of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), locking in key provisions that will shape individual tax planning for years to come. This comprehensive legislation introduces a range of reforms from Trump Accounts and expanded standard deductions to changes in tip income treatment and new above-the-line deductions.
This CE course will equip tax professionals and financial advisors with essential insights into these updates. We’ll break down major changes such as:
The permanency of the increased standard deduction.
Tax-exempt treatment of tips and overtime pay.
Reinstated deductions for car loan interest.
Adjusted SALT deduction caps.
Expanded above-the-line deductions for educators.
You’ll also explore the introduction of Trump Accounts—new IRA-style savings vehicles for minors with federal seed funding—and analyze how OBBB 2025 affects Social Security, Medicare funding, and the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT). Plus, we’ll cover implications for Qualified Small Business Stock (QSBS) and the continued repeal of moving expense deductions.
Major Topics:
Trump Accounts for Minors.
Tax Exclusions for Tips and Overtime.
